Quilted Maple Top Explorer Build | The Body
I was fortunate enough to be given a one piece black limba blank and quilted maple drop top from Derek of Kimball Hardwoods (kimballhardwoods.com) I made an unboxing video when I first got this from Derek and have since learned about the history of the Gibson Explorer guitar. It was only right for me to make a one of a kind Explorer style guitar with these two incredible woods. This is the first part of that journey, making the body. Thanks again to Derek and please enjoy the video.

51 Tele bass build | DIY | bass guitar | demo linked to hear it in action
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.Год назад
It’s not every day that your boss’s boss asks you to make them a ‘51 tele bass…but that day was not too long ago for me. We came up with a plan and we decided on a swamp ash body, with a Fender roasted maple jazz bass neck that I would modify to make look like a 1951 tele bass neck. The color of the body would be lake placid blue and the whole bass would get a relic treatment to make it look ro...
Telecaster Style Guitar Build with a Carbon Fiber Top | with Greta Van Fleet sound test
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.Год назад
The good folks at Total Boat sent me some of their carbon fiber fabric and High Performance epoxy to add to the telecaster body I made a few months ago. (ruclips.net/video/fMJKH5Zx-J4/видео.html) It was a learning experience for sure and mistakes were made but the final guitar turned out pretty cool. Huge thanks to my buddy Austin for test driving it and using his unbelievable talents to play a...
Unboxing and Assemly of the Harvey Alpha HW615 Bandsaw (no talking #asmr)

I got the chance to add another bandsaw to my shop so that I would be able to re-saw figured wood for guitar tops. This Harvey Alpha HW615 came packed so well, and practically already assembled, that it only took about and hour to have it off the pallet and running. Thanks to Harvey for making such an awesome tool and sending this one my way. #harveywoodworking #woodworkingtools #bandsaw Harvey...
DIY | Improving my Router Table Dust collection with a jig that uses magnets.
Просмотров 5 тыс.Год назад
Free hand routing at the router table has always been a huge mess. I decided it was time to do something about it. I had a couple mag switches left over from my table saw hold down jig and a random magport, so I decided to make a jig to cut down on all the mess at the router table. It's a really simple jig but has already proved itself worth the effort to make in how much it cuts down on the me...

Looks fantastic but like you said, after the pickguard goes on it's a different story. The only thing that makes sense on a strat (traditional routing where the pickguard must go on) is a Martin style burst where it closely follows the contours of the body.

Awesome job Nick but I wish you would’ve finished it to see the final finish and see what products you used to do the job. What black lacquer, sanding, sealer, and clearcoat product did you use? I am thinking about doing a Strat myself and I really like what you did but I’m new to it and since you are a woodworker, I believe I could trust the products and the process that you would present, I still would like to know the product you would suggest if you could reply to my post. I would really appreciate it. By the way I subscribe to your channel.

People, be careful when using a jigsaw to make a thick cut like this. It may look like you’re cutting square up top but it may be undercutting underneath. A dark veneer between the body and the top would make it pop better.

I am a professional home remodeling contractor, but I love to see what other people are doing wit their projects when I have time. This is faaarrrrrr and away one of the best DIY videos I have ever seen! Not only is the overall production quality excellent, although simple in it s execution, but this guy has taken the time to make very clear explanations and the camera work and sound quality are great! Please keep them coming! 90% of RUclipsrs could learn a hell of a lot from your production example. I cringe at most of the DIY videos out there!

The Wixey is a great unit that I have used for over a decade. I hate the blade calibration method and use a different way. Set the fence anywhere, rip a stable hardwood, and zero the Wixey. Measure the ripped board and back up the fence to negative that measurement. Zero the Wixey again and done. It really is a reliable device that I trust much more than my eyes on the ruler.

Your video make no sense to people who's installing these lights from start to finish, you skipped the connection of the power installation, making you video not very helpful.😮 Comments made by some aren't helpful, people want to see start to finish videos when they don't know this installation, telling them to hire high priced professionals is irritating they want to install it themselves.
